Walking With Christ 1-26-2025

My dear family and friends. What a crazy week I have had. My mission is awesome I really do just love it. Among all of the ups and downs there is no better place, way, or means to learn the things I have been learning on my mission. I will forever be grateful for and forever be blessed by my mission. Here is how my week went! Tuesday we had district council and zone council that was awesome! We also had office time and then waffles with a secret service member. We had a lesson and then had accountability zoom meetings with us, the aps, and President and Sister Macpherson for 3 different zones for an hour and a half. Busy busy but full of the spirit! Wednesday we hooked up the good Ole truck and trailer and picked up 2 service missionaries and moved 2 apartments. One of them was disgusting and loaded with a buch of random things I just threw away or donated. We had 4 companionship help us and I got to see one of the missionaries I trained and love to death! Out of the 2 service missionaries we drove around to help us it was weird because one of them bashed our mission for focusing a lot on baptism and numbers while the other one was not happy to be there at all. I learned to love and express gratitude at a greater capacity and for that I am grateful. Heavenly father loves all of His Children and im grateful to serve with all different types of people! We ended up not having time for lunch that day we were slammed! We had a good dinner, then we had a Book of Mormon class where we had our Turkish friend join us! There was also an old man hitting on the sister missionaries which was not cool. We ended up getting home late and I was slammed. Thursday we moved another apartment witb the truck and trailer and prepared ourselves and projects for MLC which was to come Friday. The amazing senior missionaries took us to get Afghan kabobs wich were so delicious! We went out to prosselite that night and we were so exhausted and beat. I wondered how we could do it. It was literally only possible through Christ. Friday was the big day! We had MLC and we were to present 5 different projects to be sustained and we gave a training and pushed our new baptismal calendars!! It took a lot of work and effort to push all that we did out to the MLC but we did it! When it came time to set our new monthly baptismal goal I really was inspired. For context our mission has a goal of 44 baptisms for Christ and with the recent snowstorm we have had and church being canceled a lot of baptisms are being pushed back and we won't hit our goal. Some missionaries including the president were tempted to lower our monthly goal to 40. For context our mission had a vision given by revelation to baptize 153 in one month. The most we have gotten is 63, but the lord is refining and preparing our mission for that day. Last February was monumental in this mission and changed my life. We set a goal to baptize 51 and through many miracles we ended up having the highest baptizing month we have ever had. It changed this mission that month of February. There was fewer weeks to baptize and we had a snowstorm that interfered and canceled services. Yet the Lord provided. I among a few other missionaries felt impressed we needed to set our goal to 51 and show the new generation of missionaries the power that can come from on high. After a long council the spirit impressed and witnessed to us all we will baptize 51 and this month of February will be the momentum we need to catapult ourselves to 153. Yes we are back to where we were a year ago in our mission, but we have learned, we are more refined, and God will work wonders among us. We had an lsi member meal following MLC and I was pretty tired but I remember receiving revelation for a new project to work on, one that will help this mission baptize 153... That was a highlight of my week! God is so good! Saturday i woke up and our apartment was 40 degrees. It was so hard to get up. I was not having it my body felt like it was hit by a bus and I was struggling. I haven't been that exhausted in so long. We drove to pick up a bike and my companion and I both were so beat. We called the sisters and had them pray for us so we can receive strength and proselite. We did and it all worked out. We found a super cool 76 year old guy and chatted with him for a bit. We had a member visit that was prompted by the spirit and it just refilled our tanks and theirs a bit. It was special. I remember learning something I will never forget. Sometimes we overdo it and burn ourselves out. I have definitely done that before. I have always wondered how mission Presidents, how prophets and apostles do it every day and still be so full and disciplined and their minds be sharp. Here is what I learned.... "Be not weary in well doing" There are times in my life I feel exhausted, stressed, depressed, unmotivated, and being burdened by responsibilities or by life around me. There have been times where my desire and me actually doing good has lead me to be weary and I wouldn't allow me to take care of myself as I should. Through pondering and praying I have come to the Conclusion the Key is to walk with Christ! Just as Enoch of Old who Walked with Christ Moses 6:34 I can too. He was able to do so because of the spirit of the Lord. The spirit can sanctity and strengthen us as we wear out our lives doing good Doctrine and Covenants 84:33. I will never have to be stressed, apathetic, depressed, discouraged, or exhausted beyond means as long as I can walk with Christ Matthew 11:28-30 Paul exports and councils us to walk in the spirit and not to walk in the flesh. Galatians 5:16-17, 22, 25 The fruits of the spirit or in others words the fruits of walking with Christ are Love, Joy, Peace Meekness, Temperance and so forth. I need not be weary in well doing. Though there will be times and there have been times I have suffered and walked after the flesh and have experienced life without the spirit. Or even times when I have lived a life full of the commandments I am still fallen by nature and prone to negative mental health and emotions. One thing I know I can do is try my best and Walk with Christ. For in him there is lasting happiness When we find ourselves weary the Antidote will always be the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the renewing power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost cannot console or strengthen one who seeks to be apathetic or lazy or seeks the natural man. So the Key to be not weary in well doing and the Key to walk with Christ is to do it with enthusiasm! "President Hinckley has achieved spiritual supremacy over physical feelings. Even when entitled to normal complaints of “jet lag” or “burnout,” he is attentive. I believe that his personal antidote for fatigue is enthusiasm for the work. He is energized by the Lord, who said, “I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind … [and] fill your soul with joy.” Spiritual Capacity enthusiasm is a Greek word meaning God Within us. That is how we walk with Christ! We seek him and walk in his light, the light of enthusiasm. We seek the spirit and walk in it seeking the light and energy and enthusiasm that comes with us!" This was a powerful pondering session one where I learned a great deal and hope to apply these principles. Sunday it snowed a lot it got really cold so we caught up on office stuff. The president called us and it sounds like we are gonna have an awesome transfer coming up and we are preparing some things for it. We called the Philadelphia mission for some cool tips and tricks. Shout-out to sister Bird shes in an awesome mission. We shoveled snow for our Turkish friend and he gave us some food. It was a good day. I love you all! Always remember that Please feel free to reach out! We are stuck in our apartments today Much love and stay sweet-Elder Williams
