This Christmas I Give you my Heart 12-8-2025
Wow... boy do I love each and every single one of you! I am so grateful to not only bear the name of Jesus Christ on my chest, but also to know each and every single one of you and to represent my family and friends I love so much. This Christmas season is already special to me and will continue to be special! Nothing is more special than having a testimony founded and built on our savior Jesus Christ. This Christmas we all get to reflect on the Birth and Life of Jesus Christ. Allow me to reflect with me a time when I found and felt peace that passed all understanding one Christmas season.
December is the best month ever for me. We all love Christmas we all love presents and for me my birthday is December 15th so it just makes December that much better. It often can also become a distracting time of year for me where I just try to soak up as much of it as I can or focus on the wrong things like wether or not we watch Elf first or Christmas vacation. One particular Christmas, I dont remember the year the day or really any of the details. Often most all of my memories are based spiritually... like how I felt in a certain circumstance rather than what the actual circumstances were haha. This specific Christmas the only circumstance I can remember is that I was at a play called the Forgoten Carol's. It was a play/musical performance put on by Michael Mclean a member of the Church who really wanted to bring a focus on the real reason of Christmas. I dont remember all of the details or even all of the names of the songs its been a while since I have heard them but I remember sitting and listening intently to not only the play, but the music and I in that moment Understood in my heart the True meaning ot Christmas. I felt the spirit strongly as I came to know and to feel the Hope, the Love, and the Light that comes from Jesus Christ and His redemptive mission.
One of the Songs played in that play posed the question in its title... "Will we forget" The song goes, "6 month from now in a warm summer night will any part of us remember this night in December when we promised ourselves we'd keep His spirit all year round"
I have often pondered Christ's message to Remember Him I'm reminded of this Christmas and the feelings I felt as I write this email because that is what the spirit does more times than not is it brings things to our rememberence. One of the most repeated lessons throughout all of standard works is to remember. In fact each sabbath day as we partake of the sacrament one of the Holy ordinances of the preisthood re renew our covenants and re-commit to remembering our savior Jesus Christ with the Promise that His Spirit will always be with us as we do so.
I share this for reasons I dont know but maybe it is a chance for me and for all of us to reflect and to remember. In preparation for my mission I would often listen to hymns and itonicly enough in the middle of summer I listened to that song "will we forget" on late night drives to or from hanging out with those I love and it brought a special spirit in the middle of summer. This past week has been hectic as a mission usually is, but more so in the office. Given the things we gotta do and balance given our circumstances it has made the work much harder. My companion and last week set a goal to cast off the natural man and to break bounds and to rely on and Remember the Atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Each day doing so we found even greater Joy and even greater exhaustion. We saw many miracles found some cool people and learned hard lessons through failures and experiences. We had 3 friends at church, and awesome Christmas party, and were so Bold with the friends we are teaching. What has allowed us to press on? To put all fear comfort and energy into our missionary efforts? It has been Remembering the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ and applying it in our lives.
Let this Christmas season be a time to remember, and to apply. My greatest hope and desire is that I can be a gift to those around me and to offer myself up to our Savior this Christmas season and always each and everyday
Remember all that He asks for us is to Give of ourselves, to give Him our Heart, and to Remember Him.
I love you all so much!
