Alma 37:20 9-15-2025
This week was such a cool testimant to me! God is so good although again it was a crazy week it's always a good week! The Lord is in the very details. I just want to receive each of you and thank you as always yall are amazing and I love yall so much.
This week the first couple of days I was so exhausted and to be honest was dragging my feet a little bit. I feel I have worked hard and with the tiny area I have been in it's just been exhausting and we have ran out of new places to find and new methods to go about doing the work. My companions bike broke so we were walking our area for 3 days(it's literally so small we can walk it) Tuesdays we were blessed though wow! I was about to fall asleep walking the neighborhoods I was so tired w
then I saw a lady curb her car and pop two of her tires. It was unfortunate but I chased her down and helped her put on a spare tire for one of the wheels and while doing so the spirit fell upon me and we got to talk to her. She Is a good Christian and wants to be baptized but didn't know what church to be baptized in! Wow we just gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and had her read some verse and chapters while I changed the tire and I asked her. What is the spirit telling you? She said that I need to get baptized and that this Book is the word of God. Booom the spirit was so strong such a cool miracle!! We got her fixed up, put her on date, and sent her off to another area.
I will try to encompass a story of miracles with a family we are teaching but before I do that I would like to highlight an exchange I went on with one of the zoneleaders. It was a powerfull exchange we didn't get to do much proseliting we got stuck doing baptismal interviews lessons and ended up giving 3 blessings and it was powerful being able to minister to so many individuals and invite people to be baptized and had just a joyous day. We got to talk about how we are going to baptize 153 people in a month in the mission and it was powerful.
I have a vision to be baptizing weekly on my mission. About 9 months ago my mission President prophecied and told me there will be a day when I will be baptizing weekly on my mission and I felt the spirit wash over me. At that time it seemed unfathomable and sometimes it still does, but I have had occasional promptings remind me it's possible. Friday morning I read a scripture from the Book Of Mormon Alma 37:20..It is about a father councilng his son in his ministry and I likened it to myself.. 20 Therefore I command you, my son Helaman, that ye be diligent in fulfilling all my words, and that ye be diligent in keeping the commandments of God as they are written. I felt the spirit witness to me and it taught me that I must be dilligent unto the fulfilling of the words which my mission president who holds Preisthood keys has spoken to me...
Backtrack a little bit I have been so frustrated recently we had had a lot of cool people at church who love it and I have invited all of them to be baptized and have tried so hard my companion and I to baptize but no one would accept a date! In particular this amazing beautiful family we have been teaching God told me they can be baptized September 21st but they wouldn't commit even though they know this Church is true! Wednesday we dropped off Amharic Books Of Mormons for the parents and they were so happy the father gave me a hug and it was just so amazing. Each time we saw them we taught about Baptism and invited them and they kept saying oh we will talk about buy they knew they need to be baptized! After the exchange especially and when I read those verses from Alma 37 I knew I need to be as dilligent and Bold as possible!
Saturday came and they planned to have us over for dinner and cook us steak and fish(it was so good ) It was September 13th and if we committed the family to be baptized the family would have to seriously commit and set time aside to finish taking the lessons and commit to give up tea and coffee on the spot. I knew that God knew that they could be baptized September 21st even though it was just 8 days away. I have never pondered and prayed harder on what to teach this family to commit them to baptism and help them understand. I put my faith and trust in God and wow miracles! While we ate dinner they asked us so many questions about the organization of the Church and they kept asking questions about small details and each time we answered the spirit enlightened their understanding and in that instance the mother and the father rejoiced and exclaimed "Wow this really is Jesus Christ's Chruch wow!" We didn't even have an opportunity to share the message yet! After dinner we watched the video of Joseph Smiths First vision and the spirit was so strong. We taught and testified Boldly of Jesus Christ's Chruch and baptism. The whole family knew that this truly is Christ's Chruch and we were so Bold that they needed to be baptized and ultimately it came down to the fact the father and mother just don't want to commit right now and still drank tea and coffee. Their 16 year old daughter looked at us and said "I don't drink tea or Coffer and I want to be baptized" I felt the spirit wash over me especially as her younger 10 year old brother raised his hand and said "I don't drink tea of coffee either I want to be baptized too" They are now on date for September 21st. They along with their whole family witnesses to us that this is Jesus Christ's Chruch. There was a beautiful sweet spirit in that room and the parents were so happy and excited to see that their kids wanted to be baptized and it was tender. This family is incredible and the kids are setting an example and the spirit had witnessed to me that this is the Lords will for the kids to be baptized before the parents and set that example. After our lesson we all kneeled humbly and I offered a dedicatory prayer blessing their home to be a place where the spirit presides.
Tomorrow the next day was Sunday and the whole family came to church! The mother came for the first time and skipped going to her Ethiopian orthodox church and skipped their Ethiopian new year celebration to come. It was so special seeing the whole family there. We had a linger longer afterwards and they got to meet the whole ward and everyone is excited for the baptism and I have never seen a happier group of people! I bear my solem witness that Jesus Christ lives and is the very details of our lives and at the head of this work. We have a baptism September 28th as well for our lovely friend prim and we can see the Lord is hastening his work and prophecy is being filled and we are on track to baptize weekly!
I love you all thank you for the Prayers and being awesome! Until next time!
