And The Greatest Of These Is Love 3-31-2025
Wow this week was something else I can say that I have seen God's hand in my life. We had some amazing miracles and heavily manifestations. Monday we had like 3 sets of Elders help somone move with us and it was so much fun and then we went to the driving range and hit some Golf balls with one of our youth.
Tuesday was wow. We had district council and it is always something I care heavily about. We had some great discussions and then I gave a training on teaching and exemplifing like the savior. One of my favorite things ever is to be an instrument in the Lords hands when I am teaching or speaking and to just love others. I always feel Joy when I do that. Afterwards my companion and I had endless boneless wings and we both broke at 20 and I about died it was aweful. After that miracles just started flowing. We found a couple people just walking around the Safeway parking lot and saw so many miracles. We have actually been finding people again! My moring p studys have been great and I'm back at it! I love Jesus Christ.
Wednesday was exchange day with Elder Peterson. Man we had way to much fun together. He has been on his mission for 20 months and he is the Elder that gets all of the hard companions. He is so funny and loves to talk he is a character and I love him. We may have stayed up to late talking but the next morning we had a fire pstudy worked out and planned a baller day. We did our contacts and comp study at a local soda shop called cocos some members own and the youth came out and gave us free drinks and man we just had a great day. We knocked doors talked to people and found 5 friends in the suburbs and put somone on date! We then had the most amazing member meal ever we had almost to much. We went to a taco restaurant and to DQ gosh it was so fun, My comp was so jealous it was so funny.
Thursday was another miracle filled day wow we found 5 friends again and just to see God's hand in all of it again. We went to Safeway walking the streets again it's like all we have for finding but anyways we found the coolest couple ever. They were in their car and we went and talked to them and they both want and need Jesus in their life and wanted to come to church and be baptized it was incredible. We had to refer them though but so amazing. My companion and I also talked to eachother a lot that day and it's nice having a companion who likes me.
Friday was also amazing we woke up at 6 am went to seminary with the youth, came back, had apartment inspections, a zoom meeting, and then a service project. We then went finding found some friends and then had an amazing lesson with our freind on date. We had a lesson on the plan of salvation but prior to that he read 2nd Nephi 2 on his own and had questions about the fall of Adam and eve and wow. He was so prepared for that lesson it was powerful and to watch him light up as God's plan clicked in his head and was personalized to him was a miracle.
Saturday was amazing I had a deep personal study and really hit hard and what I can do to emulate Christ's Humility and still be as great and knowledgeable he is and I felt his love and guidance while doing so. We then had a service project with the youth and man I had to much fun. We were mulching yards and gosh we ended up playing 15 minutes of basketball too and eating pizza it was so fun. We then got right back to work and gave our friends Ryan a preisthood blessing. Something about Ryan is he is 20 years old, in college trying to do R.O.T.C, run track, do physical therapy, and he is just incredibly smart. He has been taught since last summer and did not want to get baptized. When I got to the area I was as bold as can be and taught with my companion the doctorine and covenant of Baptism and put him on date. He has since then fallen off the date has passed but he grew so much and all that's holding him back is a testimony of prophets and the Book Of Mormon. To give him a preisthood blessing was a miracle and it was powerful. I love him so much and it's so hard. Everyday we have him read a chapter from 3rd Nephi and we read as well and then every night at 9pm we call and talk about it. We are on 3rd Nephi 8 and he has seen more Christ In his life he even prayed and Got an answer of the divinity of the Book but just won't accept his testimony. To him he is all about Logic and wants a logical witness. I had an interview after that preisthood blessing with Ryan and interviewed a guy from India for Baptism and he is incredible smart and was able to see how the Church is true through logic and the spirit it was a powerfull interview. Our freind Ryan is so close.
That Saturday night for some reason I just was feeling depressed and had to have like a therapy session with my comp because of struggles I have that come from my desire to love others and help them and the sense of urgency I have and how sometimes people are haters and I put blame on myself but come Sunday it all melted away.
Ahh Sunday was so amazing. I woke up and my comp reminded me I have a talk in sacrament meeting about loving one another ironicly. I had nothing prepared just thought in my head and scribbled footnotes on my journal. I went into that talk on Sunday with nothing but ideas in my head and maybe 4 scribbled footnotes on my journal. I was the last speaker and they left me with 17 minutes, I won't lie though it felt like 5, I went up there after many prayers and just let the spirit Guide. I can't tell you all exactly what I said because I forgot and don't have a written talk but it tailored to my own needs as well as the audience and the spirit was so strong. We had 6 people at church as well and one of them was Ryan!!! He came up to me after my talk and was like...
"Wow Elder Williams that was amazing! While you were speaking God told me I need to have more faith because I doubt a lot we can talk more about that tonight"
Gosh that was a miracle and then our bishop came up during 5th Sunday and popped of and talked about faith and the spirit totally fell upon him it was the best Sunday ever! After sacrament meeting there was a baptism so half of our friends who came to church came to the baptism as well! We had a 15 year old girl show up to it who has been coming to church with her boyfriend and that was hype! We then went home ate food and then went to a devotional for all of the youth in this mission and had recent convert speakers go up and bear testimony and it was so powerful. Our 15 year old was there and we pulled her and her boyfriend aside and put them on date with pretty much the whole mission there it was so cool! Gosh God is so good. I talked to some past missionaries I served around and they said the Elder I trained last 2 transfers is now a beast and he is cooking hardcore. My trainee called me earlier that week to ask me something and he expressed lots of love and it felt good. We then had a phoncall lesson with Ryan over the phone and we had a return missionary who went to school with him for many years join the call and she popped off she was so bold and testified like crazy or baptism and how he has a testimony he just needs to get dunked and how fear is holding him back it's crazy I loved every second of it.
I have been struggling this transfer I won't lie but thus past week I really focused on the savior and his love for me and re-yolked myself to him. It's a daily process and it's hard but the Joy of seeing miracles and emulating the fruits of the spirit when you teach and interact with others is a huge blessing. To be the salt of the earth and a city on the hill is to follow Jesus Christ and be an example and lift others where they are and see/allow them to be who God wants them to be.
I met a stranger in the night Whose lamp had ceased to shine.
I paused and let him light His lamp from mine.
A tempest sprang up later on And shook the world about.
And when the wind was gone My lamp was out!
But back to me the stranger came— His lamp was glowing fine!
He held the precious flame And lighted mine!
I love you all! Shoutout to Austin for getting his call
"Stay Sweet"-Elder Williams
