Job ain't finished 12-2-2024
Brooo what is uppp, Monday we had a great pday. We went to the army museum and basically watched and saw the us go from 1776 army to what it is now and it's absolutely crazy. I love America and I Love God. That night I wasn't feeling it I felt our area was going in shambles and that all my hard labor has been in vain, but of course that ain't the case. We all feel down sometimes it's ok.
Tuesday was a crazy day I ain't even gonna lie. That morning I was so unmotivated due to the previous night and I had like sleep paralysis in the morning which sucked. I missed exercising and so I did the only thing I knew how to do...I sent up a mighty prayer and poured my heart out to God and he immediately answered my prayers I heard the voice of the spirit as an audible voice for the first time speak to me and say....."I am here for you, I have always been with you and I need you to just keep going and I will take care of you"
I literally felt chills of warmth run down my body and just felt love if you know what I mean Less than thirty minutes later my buddy I havnt really spoken more than 5 words to in that last 2 like years sent me a devotional on messenger about enduring to the end. It resonated so well with me and was even more of a testimant that God was with me. The devotional lit a fire inside of me and I got right back to work and had a great day as always We had endless boneless wings for lunch, a 6 course meal with a Polynesian family for dinner and about 5000 calories total in counting it was nuts. Besides food we had some great lessons. We had a lesson with our friend from Monday and she committed to reading the Book of Mormon every day and understood the atonement of Jesus Christ which is huge. Even though we taught her a month ago God has prepared her to be taught again. We also had a great lesson with a member we have been trying to get to the temple and he is finally going to meet with bishop after our lesson that night so happy!! GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!!
Wednesday has been an amazing miracle filled day and overall just awesome I got to decorate the red cross house with Christmas decorations and it was so fun I felt blessed to do that. We had a great lunch almost to much food again today but I guess Thanksgiving lasts all week. We had a w lesson with our freind Kelvin and put him on Date to be Baptized on January 3rd which was awesome. We got in contact with our recent convert who Ghosted us finally We had a prompting to make a Thanksgiving card with a special note and some Jesus pictures I bought back In Arkansas so we called the sisters and asked them to buy a card for us. They happened to be at Walgreens for whatever reason so that's a miracle In it of itself We then wrote in it, signed it, and stopped by and we happend to see her for the first time in two weeks Turns out she had some crazy family stuff gone down and she just shut everyone out even her boyfriend but she was so glad to see us and was excited for church and informed us she has been studying the scriptures. We even got her set up with bishop for a temple interview and she's back on track She mentioned the card had made her cry and loved every second of it. Being able to get her set up with bishop also fixed ward relations a bit. As we have been able to communicate with bishop a huge burden was lifted of my shoulders and God answered my prayers.
Ahhh Thanksgiving was awesome. We started off the day with a turkey bowl with the ward, but only us and one guy from the ward showed up so we just played catch.
We then had a member meal with the Drake family which was so good it was the best in years. We also got to play football with them and their kids. Following them we went to the Taylor's and had some seconds We then played some card games with their family. Following them we went to the rushes and had some pie and talked about some pretty interesting stuff. Following them we went to the Fereria's and had some more food their son Lil luis Jr has some serious brain Rot it's so sad and crazy to see bro is 11 Luis Sr is my favorite though he knows I might be leaving soon so he just hugged me and gave me some fat compliments. Love that guy. We then had an exchange and to be honest our district leader is so trunked and he had an apostate companion and they have apostate Elders living above them and every time we have an exchange I can't sleep till midnight and it just makes things hard.
Friday I had an exchange with another Elder named Elder Williams. he is not the most motivated missionary and I was in his area and he just played pool with the Elders upstairs for 2 hours and called it comp Study and contacts. Then somehow took us and 4 more Elders to the mall to look at hats and shoes for black Friday till 2pm outside of our district it sucked so bad most mid exchange ever. After 2pm we started working and rode bikes. It was in the 30s so super freezing and he had an ebike that was super fast and I had a jank Walmart bike. I could not keep up As the Day went on we got some good work done and I got to know Elder Williams better and he told me about so much crazy mission lore that was kind of jaw dropping. Inspite of all of his disobedience I was able to learn to love and have patience. Needless to say it was an exhausting exchange I can honestly say though that as I got to know the man my love for him grew as we talked and got on the same page. I ended up teaching him some guitar and learned to bear all things with patience and love and everything will work itself out for the better.
Saturday was a grind it was so cold outside and we just went finding pretty much the whole day and not a whole lot happened we planted a couple seeds had some nice interactions but overall some days are just hard
Sunday was fast Sunday so it was a gauranted grind. No one showed up to church except one less active and a recent convert but it was still a huge win. Dominique was sick so she didn't come buttt despite that and walking around in the cold on empty stomachs it was a very fulfilling day Why? Well.. because my companion and I had a great conversation on life and our weaknesses and strengths during weekly planning while the spirit was present. We also had a great lesson with a less active part member family we have been working with every Sunday and it was amazing. The icing on the cake was during missionary correlation we were actually able to see some of the fruit of our labors as ward members complimented us on our hard work and expressed how if I get transfered out that I can go knowing I left the ward in a better place and fulfilled my missionary purpose in every way. It was definitely an answer to my prayers from earlier this week. God is in the details of our lifes and will send ministering angels to bear us up As a Missionary we can be those angels but sometimes we ourselves need angels. My companion shared a journal entry with me that he wrote his first week with me when bro was in the trenches and how much we as a companionship have been eachothers angels. Same principle applies in our everyday Iives. How can we be a light to the world especially this holiday season? How can we be those angels ready to bear each other up?
Alma 5:12
And according to his faith there was a mighty change wrought in his heart. Behold I say unto you that this is all true.
Yall hit me up and "Stay Sweet"
-Elder Williams
