Prossball in the hood 8-5-2024

 What's up everybodyyyyy!

I have officially made it to the Washington DC south mission!! On Wednesday we met the mission president and his wife who happens to be Ronald A. Rasbands daughter which is just incredible to be in their presence and getting to know them it's been awesome and he happen to be their first ever transfer.

 I gotta say the mission life is awesome I was scared to death on who my companion was gonna be but the lord knows me and he gave me someone who was obedient and put me in the Mount Vernon area with Elder Swan We both whitewashed it meaning we are both new to the area so we have no idea what's going on and are figuring things out ourselves it's awesome. 

Our first Day in the area we checked out are apartments and they were a wreck the last two Elders left a huge mess tons of messy food cloths and towels everywhere and it sunk my heart a little bit but we cleaned up and got to work. We didn't have an area book and didn't know anyone so we went by the spirit and just went good Ole street contacting and tracting and met some cool people I played some catch with some guys at the park got to throw a baseball to bad they weren't interested but we met a cool kid named Noah and his mom who just moved from New York hoping we can teach them a little bit about the gospel and help them through whatever struggles with the saviors infinite atonement. 

After getting our area book and figuring out the area we were able to meet a couple cool people and get in contact with some awesome people recent converts and members it's really fun getting to know people and their story. 

I will say Sunday was fast Sunday and I told the lord I am consecrated to him and I wanted to find some friends today so I went the whole day no food or WATER till 5. Lord knows that's not like me to do that but I took the risk and was blessed through my efforts we ended up meeting this super cool guy named derby like Kentucky playing basketball and asked him if I can shoot a few. Not knowing it was legit a thing Missionary's did to talk to people I just wanted to shoot some hoops and let the spirit guide the conversation and we ended up talking about the restoration and the book of Mormon which was awesome since he loves the Bible but feels religion got corrupted by man and didn't follow the lords will. He loved the lesson I shared in Mormon how the book of Mormon was saved for our days to convince Jesus is the Christ and that more people may fully believe and he loved that. Told us to stop by next Saturday and said he'd read the book of Mormon. Awesome stuff what a stud

Not to long after that we rand into a schizophrenia tweaker talking about how the demons were trying to get to her she asked for a Bible we gave her the book of Mormon taught her about it she seems to love Jesus and gave us her address. She lives in the sisters area so good luck to them she's their problem now

Guys the mission is awesome you get weird looks sometimes run into some really really weird people and especially in dc you meet people from all over the world from every religion but one thing you learn is God loves all his children and his bowels of mercy are filled over all the earth and he knows each one of us and he has sent angels on this side of the veil to help us out.
