Lunch Meat in the hood 10-14-2024
Aye what's good gang? Monday was hype we played wiffle ball and pickleball which made me a very happy man. It was very much needed. We went to Chik fila and it was buss I haven't had in like over 5 years for no reason. My friend paid for it with personal funds all because I offered to pay for him with my msf then he turned his back on me and paid for the both of us, what a man. We also put our friend Dominique on date and taught her the wow! She is so elect she literally stopped smoking weed like a year ago even though her friends made fun. She is so prepared so pray for her!
Ya'll Tuesday was much needed. We finally had district council and did amazing trainings and it helped me get back in the rhythm of things and get hyped to find people, plus the spirit was totally there andddd we had interviews with President Mc Phearson which (by the way) this time I didn't ball my eyes out like last time. President gave me the greatest compliment ever and it lit a fire inside of me...
He said I was doing so amazing and that each time he reads my weekly emails it leaves a smile on his face. He also says out of the 22 missionaries that came out with me I was killing it on the field and said not that it was a competition or anything but what separates me and the zone leaders was time spent out in the field. He said that my zone leaders and district leaders claimed I carried a spirit that lifts the zone and he referred to me as a spark plug. Last week I struggled when it came to talking to people I just straight up was exhausted cause my comp doesn't like talking to people and if I wasn't going to do it he wasn't so I was burnt out all week and he helped me out with that and gave me the confidence to just absolutely tear it up in the field these coming weeks, I said President just keep me humble that's all I want.
My comp and I also had a w lesson with Marqui the same guy we had a wild lesson with last week. We told him we only have like 30 minutes and then we have to leave asap so we don't have another out of pocket lesson. We brought the spirt in like crazy. We watched the Book of Mormon video based off of 1st Nephi 10-15 that basically covers Nephi's vision of the interpretation of the tree of life and the condensation of God and the apostacy and restoration in our days. It resonated deep with him he started crying and keep in mind this brother is 43 and has smoked weed with Rick Ross. The spirit and love of God is so strong we all felt it in the room. We testified of the Book Of Mormon and invited him to pray about it. It's so amazing seeing the spirt of the Lord soften peoples hearts and others coming unto him, it truly is a miracle.
Wednesday we cooked frfr. We had Red Cross again without the Martin's though so no one paid for our food and it was a weird vibe kind of sad butttt... We popped off as far as missionary work and it was such a beautiful fall day as well. We called and texted people for over an hour it was exhausting but we met some cool people and I finished my last weekly training in the mission. We had ten lessons contacted over 45 people over phone call and texts and made 6 new friends. I was on Sim so it literally killed me messaging and replying to all of those people while talking to people on the street but it was awesome, after my interview with President I remembered how capable I am when it comes to talking to strangers and testifying of our savior Jesus Christ and it felt good again. When I got into a rough patch last week between zone conference and general conference and didn't find a single friend I missed the days when we were finding 12 friends a week, but we back. The Lord magnifies our efforts. We didn't just make 6 friends, we found 6 souls, who are children of God, who are prepared to draw closer to him. To find purpose in life, and bring them back into the fold.
Another wild day here in the Mish...Thursday we found 4 more friends had w lessons and got a less active whom I love by the way confirmed for church! That morning Elder Boren and I went to an apartment complex knocked up the area and had no luck but I felt the spirit testify to me strongly we were supposed to be there. As I was telling him that, we were walking out of the complex, and I saw a lady standing outside and I says...there she is that's her... It totally was her she really needed our message and gladly took a Book Of Mormon and everything we said resonated deeply with her. I love being a laborer in the Lords Vineyard, God is good, find some miracles. We even had a member with us for a lesson that fell through so we cold knocked a yellow dot and had a w lesson with him! God always answers prayers in ways we don't understand.
This is day Friday I am cooking up these emails day by day I am so exhausted. We had an exchange today it was fun but I was in my area again on Sim and we planned the fattest day. We found two friends one of which is the coolest guy ever he reminds me of Vedder back at home same stash and style and similar humor. He totally was excited to read the Book Of Mormon and looking to draw closer to God and pray about it. He asked us to stop by Tuesday. We have a goal of 15 friends this week our zone record for an area is 15 and we are trying to beat it it. We are so close we found 14 friends. It takes 15 to tie and 16 to beat it. Keep praying for me those of you who are, I appreciate it and feel the difference. God hears and answers every prayer.
Saturday I about died. I was just super tired nothing crazy haha. Our homeboy got into some anti stuff but we cleared it up he's still going strong. He warned us about people offering lunch meat (lunch meat is pcp in the hood) bro was trying to look our for us we dapped him up went our way. Dominique who is on date a for the 19th is super excited to get baptized she is fasting tomorrow that's hype she's so ready we found 4 more friends today by the Grace of God literally. Never grinded so hard. My comp and I found 18 friends in one week which is a record for this zone in one area the last record was 15 not that it matters but it was just cool seeing the Lord magnify our efforts. I'm going to be honest it's been a headache to navigate all of the people we are teaching right now and making plans and following up with all of them but God is so good and we got this.
Sunday was much needed after thus week my comp and I were so exhausted even fasting want that bad since we were already tired we got our super hype less active Donna to church. She is so precise it was the wards first time meeting her and they absolutely love her and we got to see her soul light up. We bore our testimonies as always every fast Sunday and convinced our recent convert who is like 9 to bare his and it was so funny and cute. I dapped Lil bro up after it. He's a homie from Africa. The Lord answers all of our prayers we desperate needed a member meal and didn't have one so we prayed and someone hit us up and it was very much needed. Go see some miracles in your life they are everywhere.

Here is a scripture we shared a lot this week each time we found a friend...Knowing this additional witness of Jesus Christ strengthens my testimony more than it could ever be without it.
