Black BBQ and Club Cookouts 9-30-2024

 Hey yall how is everyone doing! This week was incredibly interesting to say the least. From the highest highs to the lowest of lows. Straight pure Joy to to straight depression, we also had some interesting contacts to say the least but let's start off strong.

    Monday was hype we went after going to George Washington's house for the third time we went and had a baller evening. Since I was previously beating myself up and being depressed because our friend who was on date fell off hasn't responded to us I was like fed up so I shot up one of those mighty prayers praying for specific friends to find and just throwing all of my faith in the lord out there. 

The fifth door we knocked that night a mother with 5 younger children answered and the mom just got off of work and was tired, maybe slightly interested said we can come back another time. Before the conversation ends and she shuts the door we start talking to her little kids  (they are do cute and funny by the way) one of them was named Samaria it means land of God and so lovesss Jesus it was cool to see. She just started talking about Moses, the Israelites, Adam and Eve, and she even started talking about the war in heaven. I was so shocked and felt the spirit so strong. What 8 year old girl who isn't a member knows that much stuff it blew my mind. We gave her a Book of Mormon and told her about the stories and she started jumping up and down clapping she was so excited, she begged her mom for us to come back and we did! Her mom apparently knew about the Book Of Mormon and she came to our ward 4 years ago and knows some of our members! Her mom straight up started teaching her daughter about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and translating with the Gift of God and it was crazy to see. Her daughter was so excited and she begged to come to church!!  Unfortunately they had a track meet that morning and were unable to make it.

    That same Monday we also ran into two gentleman who wanted to come to church. They are new to the area and wanted a place to fellowship and they actually pulled up and never heard of the Book of Mormon but the loved the service and were intrigued by it and asked for a copy and committed to reading 3rd Nephi 11

   Tuesday was also low-key wild in a sense. At district council we counseled about the usual stuff and then we went off topic and started talking about life the Gospel and missions and some people started crying. Super spiritual stuff

     Ahhhh Wednesdays are so amazing can't get enough, we had a slow day at the Red Cross house so we just talked to the senior missionaries the Martin's and talked about life and their missions in Fiji and a supreme justice court case sister Martin won that day against the state of Utah crazy stuff awesome people. Ya'll should hop on my Google photos and try to figure out what that video I made at the red cross house was and what was happening. 

     That day at lunch at the military hospital we didn't realize it at the time but some guy named Ian and his wife saw us missionaries eating there but didn't think much of it until we invited them to church that evening on the streets in some random location and invited them to church. He was like I recognize ya'll. Ya'll were at the hospital this morning...he was like my wife and I are new here from Georgia and have been praying for a church to Join since we moved here and this feels like an answer to our prayers especially since we seen you this morning. It was so cool and come to find out they live right above one of our members apartments and they became homies before we even invited them to church. It's so crazy we didn't even know till like 4 days later about all of this. Pray for them I am so excited to work with this couple. Like straight up manna from heaven.

     Thursday we ended up getting in contact with Dominique and turns out she was just super sick and she still wants to get baptized. We had a baller lesson with her and she connected so well with our members and she watched the Joseph Smith restoration movie and absolutely loved it she cried and watched it twice. I don't know about ya'll but a testimony of living Prophets and the restoration through the Prophet Joseph Smith helps me draw closer to Jesus Christ like none other as I know this is his true and living Gospel and the Book Of Mormon is the word of God and was saved for the latter days as the Bible and Book Of Mormon prophecies. It is so beautiful to watch people draw closer to God as they discover the Boom of Mormon and the Power it brings into their lives. Who wouldn't want another witness that Jesus is the Christ?

    Oh Friday we totally also ran into a guy who takes shrooms and thought he was Jesus. That was a super fun conversation.

  Saturday was a total Rollercoaster as always. To start off we prayed with some brother he's incredibly nice and unique he let us in his apartment and asked that we pray with him and so we did just that...my companion and I sitting on his couch, my companion on the right, me on the left...bro kneels down.. puts his head between both of our outside thighs between... his head stuffed in the cushions and grabs our knees as we pray, it was so weird but bro was chill so we cool with it. He gave me a sweet fist bump when we left after that all of our lessons fell through again and I was pressed our cool friends Ian and Hailey had a church tour scheduled with us said they were on their way then 5 minutes later canceled. I Was not feeling it after that it made me so sad but we got right back to it and found a w friend that wanted to do lessons with her husband so we scheduled for later that evening. Plot twist they canceled too but it's chill she was nice and let us know why and asked if we could reschedule. 

    All of that stuff Saturday but the Job ain't finished yet. We get a call from one of our friends Reg at 7 pm and asks if we in the hood and we're like nah but we can be in 7 minutes so we pull up and just sit on some steps outside his apartment and talk about life for a fat minute and the Bible and our struggles as we all fall short of the Glory of God. We read the Bible then start talking about the Book Of Mormon and how it has helped us in life and gave us more understanding to the scriptures and Jesus Christ and he was so interested. He was able to connect the dots on how the Book Of Mormon ties hand in hand with the Bible as another witness of Jesus Christ. He totally invited us to have a bbq with him and his cousin and talk scripture so hype. He also really wanted to come to church but had work at 11 church started at 10:30. Pray for my boy.

   Sunday I was so sad for the first bit. We had then we had a friend show up second hour and had a baller lesson with our homie marquis. We read some scriptures talked for a fat minute and ended giving a plan of salvation lesson and he loved it. He invited us to go to a club and just drink juice instead of alcohol and maybe a cookout sometime it's gonna be a minute before we teach wow and law of chastity. We also got invited to our friend Dominique's wedding a year from now that was hype haha. Anyways we are loaded on food now so don't worry about me momma I'm doing fine. 

Shoutout to all my Dawgs back in AZ and AR ya'll are real ones. Shoutout to my brother coming home from his mission if you see him give him the same respect you give me and he'll fit just right in AR
