Aye where'd my lessons go? 9-9-2024

What a w week(w for weird), What an L weekend

This week has been weird I'm not gonna lie for the most part it's been good I love personal study now and it's amazing God is so good! Tuesday we struggled for a fat minute we had a lesson with an 8 year old girl who's on date but her fam got sick so we are having to push her baptism back another week and all our lessons after that flew out the window and we couldn't get anyone at book of Mormon class either. That same night two people who I thought were cool that we met previously and set up a church tour with trolled us come to find out after running into him a second time he was actually trolling us and gave us a fake number twice oh and he was with a friend who also gave us his real number then blocked us so that was fun.

Wednesday was a w again, our spirits were low for a minute after dinner but I was like nah I ain't about to have another L day so I called upon the Lord with genuine faith and boldness that he would help us find the one and he delivered. We knocked one singular random door out of a whole complex and it was a super cool guy from Ghana that was about to get baptized right before he moved to America 1 year ago and his mom is a member and he has been missing church!!
18 And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith; wherefore they first believed in the Son of God.
 Ether 12:18

Thursday brought forth miracles in it's own way. We were walking along a side walk in a big complex and a bus pulls up and drops a bunch of kids and highschoolers off and we get stuck amidst them walking and it was so weird being a missionary walking around people who are like 17 and I swear they don't have a dress code in Hood schools I saw some wild outfits, amidst all of that we ran into one of our recent friends brothers he just got back from the hospital he just got a kidney removed and we talked to him and helped him feel the spirit and increase his faith and we left him with a Book of Mormon. We said a prayer for him which he absolutely loved he dabbed us up afterwards and said any man that would offer a pray for me is welcome to my house and he's so cool he's been texting us back but has been busy with hospital and family emergencies but sometime this week we are going to give him a blessing when he finds time. It fills my heart seeing people humble enough to want to grow closer to God.
Friday was lit we ran a little exchange and we found 8 friends in a short spam of an hour granted 3 of them weren't as interested as claimed and blocked us and the lessons fell through but we had a good time we had dinner with another set of missionaries at a members home while on the exchange that was hype.
Never have I seen as much opposition as I have on Saturday what a day to start off as a w, our zone had three baptisms and we were able to get a friend there but what sucks is we had 4 friends planning on coming but things happened. Our friend who came loved it so much. He understands the importance of covenants and coning to to church each week to be cleansed again as we strive to follow Jesus Christ and take his sacrament. After the joyous baptism we went back to work but holy we had 7 confirmed lessons tonight and had planned on putting 3 people on date to work towards but the amount of opposition that transpired was crazy all 7 lessons fell through due to some wild thing or the most elect person would just ghost us. We tried to hard to scramble. I texted so so many people having anxiety for those friends we have as I watched appointments fall through.  Friends ghosting us, getting people rides to church,  lessons with members, everything just started collapsing and my companion and I felt despaired and left with no energy and no faith though I tried. I just tried to let God prevail. We did end up playing soccer with some kids and that lifted my spirits literally a gift from heaven as we were in the lowest part of the day. I did trip and bruise my palm though. I felt as if Satan was unleashing the gates of hell on us as the scriptures say but thank goodness we try to build our foundation on Jesus Christ so when days like that happen we are going to be just fine. Which we are now.
Finally, finally Sunday comes our 1 friend who came to the baptism was there and he walked around introducing himself and he started fellowshipping the ward it was so awesome to see made me smile he was so happy. During one of the hymns at church my companion and I watch as someone we don't recognize stands up during the song and the rest of the ward follows him in standing up and singing even the Bishop I was kind of confused but it was cool. After the sacrament we find that man and talk to him. The bishop didn't know who he was either but we started talking and boy oh boy this man is not mentally stable. He starts talking about psych wards and illuminati and some crazy stuff, we look at our area book and it turns out he is a do not contact and is potentially dangerous, he goes over to the Elders quorum and just takes over the class. What makes things even better is our ward has a consistent visitor who is also a do not contact although he is harmless he just isn't there mentally but both of them are there that day and completely take over class saying some weird stuff so we had two do not contacts at church and as much as I wanted to enjoy church especially after that Saturday we ended up having to actively watch over this man and keep him away from the woman of the congregation because he started going around hugging everyone and he smelled like spoiled ramen, don't ask me how I know.
Anyways today is P-day my companion is packing to go home transfers are this Thursday and it's gonna be absolutely wild there is a chance our district leader and his companion get white washed due to some leaks we have seen and if that happens I will be the only person at red cross everyone else I have to train and take lead along with all the other military stuff we got going on because the military relations missionaries are going home in less than a month as well. Big things are happening I have a crazy week coming up should be fun.
Shoutout to Connor or should I say Elder Kneckt now congrats man you are gonna hit the ground running.

by faith all things are fulfilled— 4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.
